San Diego resident and coffee roaster, Marlette Vater brings over seven years of roasting experience and more than 2,000 logged roasts to Marlette’s Coffee Company. She hand-roasts each batch with precision and care, and often hand-delivers it herself, creating a level of personal connection you won’t find elsewhere.
Trained through the Specialty Coffee Association and under Morten Münchow at CoffeeMind in Copenhagen, Marlette focuses on sensory science and evidence-based roasting. Her approach is grounded in consistency, repeatability, and a deep focus on how coffee actually tastes in the cup.
Marlette works closely with each customer, helping them explore their preferences and get the most out of their coffee, regardless of their brewing setup or experience level.
When she’s not roasting, you’ll find her spending time outdoors with her three boys, usually with coffee in hand.
